Privacy notice

Below we inform you about the processing of personal data when you use this website (alpha-investing.de). This information is provided in accordance with Articles 12 to 14 and Article 21 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR") and Section 25 of the German Telecommunications and Digital Services Data Protection Act (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz, "TDDDG").

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This already includes your IP address.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Frontier Media Inc.
Corporation under the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada
1500-1874 Scarth Street
Regina, Saskatchewan S4P 4E9
Canada

Represented by: Jordan Madill, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Email: contact@frontiermediainc.ca
Phone: +1 306 518-7537

The controller is not established in the European Union. The GDPR nevertheless applies because this website offers information services to persons in the Union and monitors the behaviour of website visitors (Art. 3(2)(a) and (b) GDPR).

Data subjects and supervisory authorities should send data protection enquiries to the contact details above. No data protection officer has currently been appointed.

2. Purposes and legal bases

We process personal data only where a legal basis permits this:

  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent, in particular for the newsletter, for audience measurement and for non-essential storage on your device.
  • Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR – legal obligation, in particular documenting and managing consents.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website, the delivery of content and the prevention of misuse.
  • Section 25(1) TDDDG – consent before information is stored on or read from your device, unless an exception applies.
  • Section 25(2) TDDDG – storage or access that is strictly necessary to provide the digital service you have expressly requested.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal (Art. 7(3) GDPR). Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to the processing under Art. 21 GDPR.

Use of this website is not required by law or contract. However, the page cannot be delivered without the technically necessary processing.

3. Provision of the website

This website is provided by a hosting and CDN provider in the USA (Vercel Inc., Covina, California, USA). When you access the site, your browser automatically transmits technical access data, in particular IP address, time, requested URL, referrer, and browser and device data.

The purpose is to deliver the page and to ensure stability, security and the prevention of misuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Vercel processes this data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Access data may be processed in the USA. This is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) and, additionally, on standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). Log data is retained only as long as needed for operation and security.

Where access protection is active for this website, a technically necessary cookie is set after you enter a correct access code so that access is maintained for a limited time (Section 25(2) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Content, images and market data

Editorial texts, images and – where shown on a page – current market figures are delivered by content and media service providers with storage in the European Union. Loading this content generates the usual connection data (in particular IP address, requested file, browser data).

The purpose is to provide the service. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Contracts under Art. 28 GDPR are in place with the service providers. Where sub-processors are used, processing takes place primarily in the EU; any third-country transfer is based on Art. 45 or Art. 46 GDPR.

Fonts are delivered with the website. No third-party font CDN is used.

5. Storage on your device

Section 25 TDDDG applies to cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage).

Technically necessary storage (Section 25(2) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) is storage without which the service you have requested would not work. This includes display settings that you choose yourself and – where applicable – access protection. This information remains stored until you delete it or the short lifetime of the access cookie ends.

Non-essential storage is used for audience measurement and channel attribution. It requires your consent (Section 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent, it is not set.

We obtain consent via a consent banner. There you can grant consent separately for each purpose and withdraw it later. Operation of the banner itself is based on Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR and, insofar as technically necessary storage takes place for this purpose, on Section 25(2) TDDDG.

6. Audience measurement

Subject to your consent, we use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The parent company is Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

The data processed includes in particular truncated online identifiers, pages visited, approximate location, technical device data, usage events (such as page views, clicks and approximate time spent) and referrer and campaign information, where available on access.

The legal bases are Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time via the cookie settings of this website or by deleting the cookies. Without consent, these services are not started.

Google transfers data to the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). Standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) apply in addition. A data processing agreement is in place. Measurement data is retained only for as long as needed for the analysis; the specific lifetime of the cookies set by Google is shown in the cookie settings.

7. Email contact and newsletter

This website offers no user account, no contact form and no payment processing.

If you email us, we process your details in order to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where this is pre-contractual or contractual, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We store emails for as long as the correspondence and statutory retention obligations require.

Newsletter. You can voluntarily subscribe to a free email newsletter with analyses and market assessments. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 7(2) No. 3 of the German Act against Unfair Competition, UWG). Your subscription only takes effect once you open the link in a separate confirmation email (double opt-in). This confirmation email contains no advertising. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example via the unsubscribe link in every email or by email to contact@frontiermediainc.ca.

When you submit the form, we process:

  • your email address, the time and the version of the consent text
  • the page on which you subscribed (address, path, slug and page type)
  • where the page shows a company: its name and its share price and price target at the time of subscription
  • UTM parameters from the URL you visited, where present
  • the optional information as to whether you already hold shares in the company named (yes or no). If you make no selection, we store nothing on this. This information is used only for editorial purposes, to decide which previously published analyses are highlighted. It is not an individual investment recommendation and not a client classification.

The recipient is Klaviyo, Inc., USA, as processor. Details of the transfer are set out in section 8. Opens and clicks in the emails may be measured. This is not a solely automated decision with legal effect (Art. 22 GDPR).

We store newsletter data until you withdraw your consent. We then retain proof of consent for as long as it is required for our defence, generally for the duration of the subscription and three years after the last email.

8. Recipients and third countries

Data may be received by:

  • hosting and CDN providers (Vercel Inc., USA)
  • content and media service providers in the EU
  • Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, if you consent to audience measurement
  • Klaviyo, Inc., USA, if you subscribe to the newsletter
  • the operator of the consent banner
  • IT service providers who support us in operating the website
  • authorities, where there is a legal obligation

Contracts under Art. 28 GDPR are in place with processors.

Canada. The controller is based in Canada. For transfers to recipients subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), there is an adequacy decision of the European Commission (2002/2/EC, Art. 45 GDPR).

USA. Hosting and – subject to the respective consent – Google and Klaviyo may transfer data to the USA. This is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) and, additionally, on standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). A residual risk in transfers to the USA cannot be entirely ruled out from a legal perspective.

9. Retention period

We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or for as long as statutory retention periods apply.

  • Hosting access data: in accordance with the provider's rules, limited to operation and security
  • Proof of consent: for as long as proof of the consent given is required
  • Audience measurement: until withdrawal and at most for the analysis period set in the measurement service
  • Display settings: until you delete them
  • Access cookie: for the duration of the respective access
  • Email correspondence: for the time needed to handle it plus statutory retention periods
  • Newsletter: until withdrawal; proof of consent generally up to three years after the last email

10. Your rights

You have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:

  • access (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • withdrawal of consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR) and
  • objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).

Please send requests to contact@frontiermediainc.ca. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity.

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21(1) GDPR). Where data is processed for direct marketing, you may object at any time (Art. 21(2) GDPR).

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR). A list of the German supervisory authorities is maintained by the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information: https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Service/Anschriften/Laender/Laender-node.html.

We do not make any decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you (Art. 22 GDPR).

We and our processors take appropriate technical and organisational measures (Art. 32 GDPR), in particular transport encryption and restricted access to administrative systems. We cannot guarantee completely secure transmission over the internet.

This service is intended for adult users. We do not knowingly process data of children under the age of 16.

11. Changes

We update this notice when the processing or the legal situation changes. The version published on this page applies. The date of the last editorial change is shown under "Last updated" on this page.
